RAINDROPS

Today the beams of early sunshine glanced between the trees, touching drops of rain.

Most of the shower fell unnoticed, but a few drops were caught in the quick shaft of light and sparkled like diamonds. The raindrops fell into the water, splashing small circles of light which rippled outwards, merging with each other until the movement ceased. Each small drop made its wide waves, which mingled with the movement of others. In the same way, all our human behaviour affects others, for good or for ill. The ripples can be of light or of darkness: as Saint Paul says: “The life and death of each one of us has its influence on others.”
